First off, some words from Amnith:
Dear friends,
It has been over 14 months since Voltage saw the light of dawn. Ever since we first went through the tower of Karazhan we have been having a great time together. We have gotten plenty of experience, both as leaders, conquerors and as a community. Some for the better, some for the worse.
Our forces were initially a small group of friends from Norway, whom knew eachother IRL. We soon god acquainted with Gretchin, now known as Gakks, whom got very interested in the guild's interest and brought his friends to join the guild. We soon grew large enough to steadily do 10 man raids, and by doing this casually we felt good. We expanded by friends of eachother until we got acquainted with some Swedes and Brites. Voltage has now 8 different nationalities. We have got an amazing community!
We started our journey in Karazhan, where we easily put an end to Prince Malchezaar. After struggling in Zul'Aman, we successfully beat Zul'jin as well. We tried 25 man content in colaboration with other guilds, which enjoyed ant wanted to do more often, and since the launch of Wrath of the Lich King we have aimed to mainly raid 25 man content. Unfortunately this has been with various success.
It is sad to see all of this come to an end, but when I think back on the good memories we have had throughout the last year, I am content that what we have had has not been in vein. I will think merrily back on the best days of Voltage and feel that we have accomplished great deeds together.
Wipe no tears but rather embrace what we had and look forward. I will miss you!
Robert / Amnith
Founder and first Guild Leader of Voltage.
To add to that, we have had major problems with getting enough players to have a stable raiding force. Even with a big merge with former Chips and Fighting we have lacked the numbers present for a stable 25 man raiding and progress. There can be several things to blame for this, but this is one of the biggest drawback when you try to be a guild with less focus on hours spent online than most
other guilds on this server.
The desicion to call it to an end has lurked in the shadows for quite some time and it with great regret that this desicion is taken. We have had a very nice community with nice people and I for one feel I can say that I've felt like I've played with a group of friends all the time. That is something each and everyone should be proud of.
The guild will not be disbanded, but the Ventrilo server will go out. The forum will, however, as long as people want to use it. I think that some of us will stay in contact through other games, like Team Fortress 2, Aion and possibly the new Star Wars MMO.
The best of luck and salutes to all, wether you want to stay or leave. This game is more about the people you meet and the connections you make than purple pixels ingame, and that is something I do hope all remember at the end of the day.
We came, we electrocuted, we vanished.
Gakks, current guild master of Voltage.
